Journal with Purpose.

For years I have been buying journals. And for years a lot of those journals have remained unfilled, half empty and in a drawer piled up.

I admit I’m obsessed with all thing’s journals, notebooks, sketchbooks and of course again, journals. Now don’t get me wrong when I purchase them, I have every intention on using them. But when you have so many journals of course it takes times to fill them all up…. RIGHT? RIGHHHT?

Don’t Judge me, I am acknowledging my obsessions of all things journals.

In all of my inconsistent journal attempts ; I’ve learned that journaling requires dedication; journaling requires discipline.

It is more that just having a beautiful notebook to carry around with you. It’s a time for you. That’s right Journaling is a time for you.

It’s a time for you to sit down, clear your mind and gift yourself the space to release every emotion, feeling, and thought that has built itself up within you.

Whether its from that day, that week, or even a few months or even years ago.

It’s a time to empty those emotions that’s been building itself inside of you.

Here are 4 tips to journal with purpose.

1.    Start off with a small, allotted time to sit down and write; making time for yourself is important

2.    Don’t overthink the process, just write even if it does not make sense; just write: A lot of times trying to achieve some sort of perfection is what stops us from moving forward at all.

3.    Enjoy the process of just allowing yourself the time to release whatever you have been bottling up inside

4.    Breathe : Sometimes journaling can bring up emotions that may be tough, allow yourself to feel how you’re feeling.
